Nothing is going to significantly change in the congenital CMV movement until there are millions of people pushing an agenda of awareness and prevention while demanding action. "As awareness of Congenital CMV grows, the need to gather and organize talent from all walks of life is essential to pushing awareness and solutions forward," says Wade Chambers, Stop CMV's Technical Advisor and member of the Board of Directors. "Stop CMV's ability to help provide solutions for those in need now while creating the crowd necessary to create the long-term changes needed are crucial to any progress we make as an organization and community."

Stop CMV has compiled recruiting tips to help you reach out to those around you who may be interested joining Stop CMV:

• 1) Use the green "Invite Friends" button (see image at left) to ask your friends to become members of the cause. Don't use the "Tell Friends" button (green button in Fundraising area)--it will ask your friends to donate to the cause.
  
  2) Write a message with your request by clicking "Add Personal Message" (see image below) in the Cause Invitation. Tell them that you want to raise congenital CMV awareness on Facebook to help prevent birth defects.
  
  
• 3) Your first invitation to your friends will be shown to them on their "Home" page under "Requests" in the top right corner. Many friends do not check this and may not see the request.
  
  

• 4) If you want to send a second invitation, go under "My Impact" on the Cause page and click "Remind Your Friends to Join". This second invitation will be shown to your friends on their profile wall.
  
  
• 5) Be sure to thank your friend for joining, either on their profile wall or on their Cause wall. Stop CMV has been thanking everyone who has joined personally, but it means more when it comes from the source!
