Scientific Advisory Panel

The Scientific Advisory Panel (Panel) provides guidance and leadership to Stop CMV on all medical issues related to congenital CMV and the CMV community. Any information on this site that deals with medical information, and in particular information on prevention and treatment are peer-reviewed by the Panel to validate that it is accurate and scientifically defensible. Too often, scientific findings are taken out of context, data is misinterpreted or manipulated to portray the scenario the user needs it to represent. The Panel ensures that Stop CMV provides updated and quality-assured information, brochures, alerts, and position statements relating to CMV.

The Panel works on an ad hoc basis and is comprised of independent, expert advisors to provide advice on all scientific matters. The Panel is composed of seven members who are selected on the basis of their professional qualifications to assess the impact of pesticides on health and the environment.

The Panel supports advocacy efforts that lead to better clinical research tools, promotes medical education, identifies and promotes medical professionals who most effectively treat congenital CMV, and assists in the development of information relating to congenital CMV prevention and treatment.
